How we Build

Allwood Solutions Ltd builds by hand. Our pieces are handcrafted. We use 3/4 inch "Pure Bond" A-face veneer core plywood; we do not use the 3/4 inch import ever. All of our face frames, the frame of the cabinet that the doors and drawer fronts rest against or in, are solid wood; we do not use edge tape, thin wood tape that is stuck to the frames or shelves, even our shelves have solid fronts. We use English/Half Blind Dovetail drawer boxes that ride on side mount full extension steel ball-bearing slides with a 100 Ibs. capacity.

Allwood Solutions Ltd sands each piece starting with 80 grit sandpaper then 120 and finally 150 grit. We make every Door and Drawer front to fit each cabinet.

Every piece of furniture that has turnings, Lathe, work on it is done by hand. This is an art in itself. Every turning will be a bit different than the other making the piece more unique. Even the Cannonball Bed is turned by hand the ball is 6 inches the posts are 5 inches, all the detailing is done by hand.     Click on this link to see  how it is done.

We use European Self-closing fully adjustable hinges, unless otherwise specified. All of our large cabinets feature spin out levelers on the base to insure the cabinet sits square on any floor surface, every cabinet has nylon tap in pads.
